Skilled Australian Visas
Skilled Visas comprise of 189 (Independent Points Tested), 190 (Skilled Nominated Points Tested) and 485 (Temporary Skilled Graduate Visa). Skills assessments are required, and there is a points table that will determine how soon you may be invited to apply.
Skilled Visa Framework
Skilled visas are generally permanent residence visas for points-tested skilled workers who intend to work and live in Australia. Once these visas are granted, there is an initial validity period of 5 years. After which, a Returning Resident Visa needs to be applied for to allow the PR holder re-entry privileges into Australia.
This is a permanent visa option. The application does not require sponsorship by a relative or state/territory government body.
Skilled Nominated (subclass 190)
A permanent visa requiring nomination by an Australian state or territory government.
Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) (subclass 491)
This is a 5-year provisional visa, allowing holders and their families/dependents to live, work, and study only in certain areas of Australia. You would need to be sponsored by an eligible family member living in a designated area, state, or territory. After a 3-year period, the holder will be eligible (subject to additional criteria) to apply for the 191 visa.
Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485)
The Temporary Graduate Visa is a work visa which can be applied by international students who have recently completed a qualification taking 2 years of study in Australia. There are a few streams to this visa which will require our assessment of your circumstances to better advise if this is suitable for you.
